Thomas Massebeau, Jr., Founder, Chief Executive Officer
Tom has specialized in the retirement market specifically with Publix employees since 1990. His experience and knowledge enable him to be a complete resource in providing valuable advice and solutions. In his free time, Tom can be found at sporting events watching his seven grandchildren or spending time with his family at their lake house. He is also involved in ministry through Inmate Encounter, a Florida based prison outreach of which he is an original founder.

Tara Sanders, CFP™, President, Chief Compliance Officer
Tara has been in the financial services industry since 1994 where she began her career at Merrill Lynch. She joined Compass Financial in 2004. She is the President, Chief Compliance Officer and an Investment Advisor Representative of Compass Financial Advisory Services, LLC., our SEC Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) firm. She is involved in oversight of the RIA and the ongoing financial planning needs of our clients. In her free time, Tara enjoys spending time with her husband and three children and is involved in her church.

Bruce Boyle, CFEd®, Executive Vice President
Bruce has been with Compass Financial since 1996. He is an Investment Advisor Representative with Compass Financial Advisory Services, LLC. He specializes in retirement income planning, asset preservation and life insurance planning. Bruce enjoys spending time with his family, sporting clay shooting, and all things outdoors.

Scot Daku, Senior Vice President
Scot has been with Compass Financial since 2004. Prior to that, he specialized in real estate and resort development. Scot’s true relationship approach allows him to communicate complicated retirement concepts in a simple, understandable way. In his free time, Scot enjoys family and friends and all types of sports, especially golf.

Ralph Gossman, Senior Vice President
Ralph has worked in the financial services industry for over 35 years. He joined Compass Financial in 2012 after retiring from the banking industry. Ralph's primary areas of focus are predictable lifetime income, legacy planning, and financial asset protection. In his spare time, Ralph may be found at the YMCA or officiating high school basketball games. He also enjoys volunteering as Treasurer of his church and is involved with missions.

Dan Black, Senior Vice President
Dan joined the Compass Financial team in 2012. His background is in retail sales, having worked for Publix for 32 years. For the last 15 years of his career, he was a store manager. He fully embraces the motto of Compass Financial as he helps clients develop a “Clear Financial Direction” for their future. In his free time, Dan enjoys spending time with his wife at car shows, on the water, or attending to his two German Shepherds, Drake and Ella.

John Cecere Vice President
John joined Compass Financial in 2015 after retiring from Publix in 2014. His career at Publix spanned 40 years, 35 of which were in management. He worked in over 19 locations in the South Florida area. His desire to help other Publix associates develop a plan for retirement is what brought him to our team. In John’s spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, especially his two grandchildren.

Lauren Tanksley, CFP™, MBA, CDFA®, Vice President
Lauren started her career in the financial services industry with Morgan Stanley in 2004. She joined Compass Financial in 2017. She is an Investment Advisor Representative with Compass Financial Advisory Services, LLC. Her experience lies in the areas of financial planning, investment management, and life insurance. She also is responsible for the oversight of our managed money portfolios. She diligently seeks to provide her clients the educational resources and tools necessary to guide them through the financial planning process and beyond. She and her husband, James, live in Atlanta, Georgia with their three children. Her passions, besides financial planning, include cooking, volleyball, being outdoors and volunteering in ministries involving families affected by divorce and addiction.

Laura Allison, Associate Vice President
Laura began her career in the financial services industry teaching educational workshops on finances and retirement to women. She personally knows the importance of the need for all women to have a solid understanding of their financial wellness. Laura joined Compass Financial in 2020. Her passion for empowering clients to make smart decisions for their financial future has been a guiding principle of her practice for the past decade. Laura loves exercising, baking, and trips to the beach; but mostly, spending time with her children and grandchildren. She resides in Atlanta, Georgia.

Steven Lovell, Associate Vice President
Steven has been in the financial services industry for over 18 years and joined Compass Financial in 2020. He believes that all clients should be treated as family. His goal is to protect their overall financial wellness in a safe and secure manner. He often utilizes life insurance and long term care planning to ensure their legacy. Steven is also a trusted resource for Medicare planning. He lives in Evans, Georgia with his wife and five children. He enjoys hunting, fishing, and anything outdoors.

Austin Massebeau, Associate
Austin joined Compass Financial in 2020 and represents the third generation at Compass Financial. He is the grandson of our founder, Thomas Massebeau, furthering our succession plan. Austin’s focus is building ongoing relationships with Publix employees as he works closely with Tom and Tara to increase his understanding as a trusted resource. Outside of work, he is passionate about the Olive Cove Mission in Haiti which he has been going to annually since 2015.

Lorrie Stohler
Lorrie joined Compass Financial in 2016. Her previous experience was in the retail industry for over 9 years where she held various positions with Publix. She works closely with all of our prospective clients throughout the retirement transitioning process and then continues to provide ongoing service. Lorrie enjoys spending time with her family and friends and working in her yard.

Jules Hubbard
Jules started with Compass Financial in 2015 and serves as the Office Manager. She is responsible for opening new accounts and the administrative oversight of our clients’ retirement transition process. After hours, she works as a part time Publix associate. Jules enjoys spending time with her three children, friends, and her grand dog.

Juli Heien
Juli has been with Compass Financial since 2011. She is solely responsible for all IT related issues in the office and all the marketing. She is also actively involved in account servicing and general client support. Juli enjoys spending time with her dog, family, and friends.

Sarah Edwards
Sarah comes to us with a strong background in office administration, with over 15 years in accounting and bookkeeping. She joined the Compass team in early 2022. Sarah is a mother to two little girls. She enjoys spending time watching them play different sports as they learn and grow into young women.
